Presenter Ian Dempsey shared a poignant note over the weekend as he celebrated 35 years since the start of his radio career.
The broadcaster joined RTÉ 35 years ago to present the Breakfast Show on 2FM and on that day, his colleague Gerry Ryan – who had been at the station for a year – sent him a welcome note.

Dempsey, who kicked off his career in 1980 and now has a long-running breakfast show on Today FM, tweeted the note out to his followers on Sunday afternoon adding: “The always mischievous Gerry Ryan left a welcome note.”
