Back To School Health Kick with Georgina Ahern

'September is very much like January - a new season with new goals.' So says Georgina Ahern, who's on a back-to-school health kick.

Her

I bought myself a new fancy juicer not so long ago.

I have to admit, I was very proud of my purchase!

On the first day I eagerly used up all my fresh fruit and vegetables, and was delighted with my healthy fresh tasty concoctions, and that was the start of an extra health buzz.

But in reality, the novelty wore off faster than I’d hoped and I haven’t been making them as frequently as I’d like to.

So, skip forward to this week and its time for a new healthy kick-start for September… I decided to have a three-day juicing menu.

If you’re interested in trying, I picked mine up from a company called juice2go.

To me September is very much like January – a new season with new goals, so it’s definitely a good month to make some new healthy resolutions.

Today is my final day of the three-day healthy juice boost and with four very large juice bottles a day I didn’t go hungry – that’s for sure!

The breakfast one is the biggest, and nice and wholesome too, just what’s needed when you wake up. It’s a smoothie, so it’s filling and enjoyable with low fat yogurt.

Monday, I believe, is a good day to start, as after the weekend you always have the best of intentions and of course you’ll be most motivated to start the week as best you can with a good healthy attitude.

So what’s in the juices? They include avocados, carrots, celery, beetroot, lemon, pineapple, spinach and apples.

After three days, I’m feeling healthy and energised and trust me – it was well worth it!

As I’ve said before, juices from fresh fruit and vegetables give you so many health benefits. A couple of days juicing will really help kick start your body into action, and help you on the way to better digestion, more energy, healthier skin, hair and nails and more.

Drink to good health & vitality – sláinte!
