True elegance.

In September, a particularly beautiful Clare hotel picked up the overall award for Supreme Winner at the well-renowned Gold Medal Awards.

Being the leading independent awards for the Irish hospitality industry, this carries plenty of weight and so, we just had to have ourselves a peek inside the winning Armada Spanish Point Hotel, Miltown Malbay. After all, there are plenty of upcoming nuptials currently in the works, so it’s entirely worth having a gawk!

While the hotel boasts a perfect mix of traditional and contemporary trends, it’s also entirely possible for any bride and groom to make this stunning spot right on the Atlantic’s edge a place of their own, adding to it in whatever way they see fit. And just look at that stunning backdrop!

The lavish home away from home is both intimate and very Instagrammable (for those who love a good photo op!). Taking inspiration from the surrounding natural elements, the hotel boasts classic neutral tones, fresh floral details, bespoke furnishings and stunning views.

Whether you and your guests opt for a Seaview Room, a Superior Room, a Signature Room or the Wild Atlantic Suite — you can expect sheer tranquillity, and perhaps a most spectacular view.

In terms of what to expect on the big day — the Armada Hotel pulls off a magnificent reception to rival plenty of others.

Whether you’re planning a big celebration or keeping it a more intimate affair, couples will have the choice between taking their party to one of the hotel’s most beautiful solemnised suits or to the stunning landscaped lawns overlooking the sea.

Being perfectly positioned to enjoy all the foodie delights of West Clare, expect a banquet unlike any other. With superb meats and fish, plus those delectable home-grown herbs and vegetables (they come straight from Armada Farm itself!) guests will not only be spoiled for choice but the food will be a feast for the senses.

Irresistible bites and dishes

From the nibbles and Prosecco Bar upon arrival to the ornate evening meal with all guests along with that white sandy beach right outside the door — it’s utterly magical.

The day before a wedding, couples can enjoy bopping into the hotel’s cosy Johnny Burke’s Pub or opt for a full sit down three-course meal at the Pearl Restaurant. This could also be an option for the day after.

Or indeed, you could go for a more chilled-out BBQ, cooked in the hotel’s beautiful Ocean Bar courtyard — this is ideal for the day after celebrations also.

So, soon-to-be brides and grooms, if you’re looking to see all the stops pulled out for your big day, have yourselves nestled within the most amazing spot that combines the beauty of both land and sea, you might just be on to a winner here.
