We apologise in advance for making you feel slightly old, but it has been 10 years since Kanye West dropped his first musical genius bomb on the world in the form of College Dropout.

The rapper’s debut album was released on the 10th of February 2004 and without doubt remains one the greatest albums of its kind.

West’s overdue arrival to the rap scene offered a welcoming and much needed alternative to the ‘gangsta’ lyrics and sound that had been dominating hip-hop charts for years previous.

From phenomenal anthems like ‘Jesus Walks’, to West’s inspirational ‘Through the Wire’, recorded just two weeks after the musician was in a car accident and had his jaw wired shut, we’re going to go ahead and say it, this could quite possibly be one of the greatest albums of the decade.
