The woman took to parenting forum Mumsnet to ask whether she was being unreasonable for ringing up her "best friend's" parents and asking if she could come anyway.
She wrote:
"After a lot of thought and realising that I would regret it if I didn't go, I went to see her parents today to ask them if it would be ok if I surprised her. "I was immediately met with hostility and I could tell straight away by their faces that they didn't want me to. "I feel absolutely crushed, to be honest. She was maid of honour at my wedding and she did a similar thing by coming back and surprising me at my hen party."
Understandably, a lot of people on Mumsnet though that yes, this woman was indeed being unreasonable.
"You're asking to gatecrash the wedding of someone who doesn't apparently want you there, or they would have invited you themselves," said one person. "Don't go. And don't ask the bride."
"She didn't invite you," wrote another.
However, the unknown woman then went on to edit her post to say that she and her "best friend" had made up a few months back and were now incredibly close again.
Honestly, we don't know what to believe anymore, but one thing remains certain.
If someone wants you at their wedding, they'll invite you.Life

I’m a 35-year-old in HR, earning €26k, and this was my biggest financial mistake Let’s be honest, most of us are at least a little bit nosy when it comes to money. We want to know what other people are earning, how they’re actually getting by, and what their spending really looks like (not the […]
