The brains behind instant messaging service WhatsApp are thinking of introducing a couple of features from its parent company Facebook.
According to reports in the tech industry, developers are currently testing a “Like” button and a “Mark As Unread” feature.
While it’s difficult to see how a like button would work within a messaging service, Tech 2 has reported that the new feature may allow you to like your WhatsApp contacts’ profile photos and it could also be introduced as a group chat feature.
At the moment, the appearance of two blue ticks show that you have read a Whatsapp message but the new “Mark As Unread” feature may allow you to reverse this process.
This was reported by AdsIzone, who are believed to have received the information through a WhatsApp translation document.
