These are a few of our favourite things… for this week at least.

Meet The Family
Team Her.ie welcomed a new addition to the Maximum Media family – SportsJOE.ie. Our new bros at SportsJOE live, sleep and breathe sport so you’ll find them over there 24/7 with the latest.
We had a launch party to welcome them last night. Go easy on us today, ok?
FRANtastic TV
The finale of Love/Hate series five takes place this Sunday night and Cathy is very excited. Who will survive? Team Fran or Team Nidge? All of the drama. Although it’s always a tense watch, the last two episodes have been particularly gripping and the last episode this series is sure to be more of the same.
Special Celebrations
Rebecca celebrated a special (seven-year) anniversary this week and while she and her boyfriend agreed not to get each other presents, he surprised her with a pair of earrings, a necklace and a bracelet from Swarovski’s gorgeous Bolt collection. She hasn’t stopped telling us about a) how much she loves the new pieces, and b) how great her other half is.
Reaching the Summit
This week, Liz rubbed shoulders with some of the future Mark Zuckerbergs at Dublin Web Summit. Between listening to a cure for cancer and meeting 10 year old entrepreneur and motivational speaker Eric, the event was a talking point for most people this week.
Liz’s highlight was definitely sitting in and being inspired by the incredibly smart, funny and empowering Eva Longoria, who summed up a pretty strong message:
“Be the change this world needs. Create the story you want to hear, write the story you want to see.”
Mini Attractions
Car lover Mary was left speechless this week with the launch of the new five-door Mini. Our obsessed car fan fell head over heels with their electric blue Mini Cooper and has been stalking the Mini website all week, drooling over all the possible additions you can put into the sporty new must-have. Short of stalking out the garages, we think Mary’s going to have to sell all of her worldly possessions to buy it before she explodes altogether.
Some Sons
Marie has a terrible habit of being about two years behind everyone else when it comes to television shows so she’s only getting around to seeing the genius that is Sons Of Anarchy. After a few weeks of eschewing a social life in favour of Netflix marathons, she’s finally caught up to season five. OBSESSED.
Flights of Fancy
Michelle adores travelling anyway, but the latest additions to the onboard Boutique on Aer Lingus flights have her with credit card out and webpage open and on permanent alert. With gorgeous Irish brands like Chupi, Brooke & Shoals and Voya joining the offers on board, it looks like our latest shopping destination is in the air.
Body Beautiful
Yes, we know we’re spoiled rotten. So what. The lovely folks at The Body Shop sent in a selection of their new Christmas collections this week and quite frankly Team Her.ie have never smelled more lovely. Not a bad day’s work.
With Cheese, Please
We took delivery of a delicious hamper of cheese this week thanks to our pals at Dubliner Cheese. Though we can’t help feeling like the Sminky Shorts mouse every time we profess our love for the dairy goodness, it’s safe to say we count cheese amongst our favourite things ever. It will not take long to get through this haul…
Laura Izibor returns with free download
It has been five years since Dubliner Laura Izibor released her phenomenally successful debut album, Let the Truth Be Told, but much to Grace’s delight she is back and by the sounds of it, she is better than before. The 27-year-old has given fans a taster of brand new music with beautiful track TV & Magazines, which is free now to download from SoundCloud. Laura promises more new material is on its way and without giving anything away, music fans should stay tuned for a very special performance from the songstress for The Sunday Sessions later in the year.
