The busiest day of the year for dating might surprise you

After the celebrations of New Year's Eve, New Year's Day is usually a chill time as you reflect on the festive season and look forward to another year. With the return to work and normality on the horizon, the usual resolutions to 'take up a new hobby' start and for some, this hobby might be dating. It seems that this is the biggest day of the year for dating with dating app Hinge reporting a major surge in new users on this particular day. Speaking to TIME magazine, a representative for the app said that going on trends and data collated over time, a host of new users are expected on the first day of 2017. Considering that 2016 saw a 35% increase in new users, it's no major surprise that this trend is expected to repeat itself on January 1st. Interestingly, New Year's Day 2017 falls on a Sunday, a popular online dating day, so Hinge expect to see an even bigger rise in new users joining this year. So if you're single and on any of the usual dating platforms, Tinder, Plenty of Fish etc, it might be worth having a goo on the 1st of the month.
