Love your smartphone – hate the battery? You’re not the only one.
Despite major advancements year on year in the capacity of the world’s favourite devices, the short battery life has long been a bugbear of users that hasn’t really been addressed by makers.
This development, however, could change everything.
Researchers at the prestigious Stanford University have built an aluminum-ion battery prototype that looks set to lead to super-speed charging times of only one minute.
In even better news, the material is more flexible, less expensive and safer than the current preferred lithium-ion batteries.
Just imagine how many awkward moments this could solve…
