Road Safety Authority Warns People About Fraudulent Text Message

You are advised to delete the message

Rebecca McKnight

The Road Safety Authority (RSA) has warned people about a fraudulent mobile phone text message which claims to be from the National Driver Licence Service (NDLS).

The text apparently contains a link to a website which asks for identity and banking details.

These messages are not from the NDLS. It only sends no-reply text messages to confirm appointment times at NDLS centres.

People who receive fraudulent texts seeking such personal information are advised to delete them.

Anyone who has provided said information in response to fraudulent texts should contact their bank or credit company immediately.

The RSA has informed the Gardai and the Competition & Consumer Protection Commission of this fraudulent activity.
