Tell your significant others ladies – the bar for “Best Boyfriend” has been suitably raised!
In a hilarious (and slightly disturbing) turn of events, 20-year-old Ayan Zhademov of Kazakhstan made a pretty grand gesture for his girlfriend recently, dressing up as his love to take an exam in her place.
Zhademov’s girlfriend, who has not been named, hatched the plan after his 17-year-old partner shared her worries about the upcoming Unified National Testing – the Kazakhstan equivalent of the Leaving Certificate.
His disguise comprised of a black wig and some make up, in addition to his girlfriend’s uniform of a white blouse and grey skirt.
Somehow, examiners spotted that the “girl” in front of them looked very different to the picture on her ID card.
A spokesman for the exam board said: “We suspected it might be another woman that had taken the candidate’s place, but we never suspected it was a man that had taken her place. At least not until he started speaking.
“He tried speaking in a high voice but it was obvious then that he was a male.”
Zhademov was fined just over €1,900 for his endeavours, but the fee was paid by a local businessman who was impressed by Ayan’s daring gesture in the name of love.
Dariga Nesterova, another student sitting the exam said the move was “very romantic” – adding “I wish my boyfriend was this romantic.”
Ayan’s girlfriend will now have to wait until next year to take the exam.
