An 85-year-old badass great-grandfather has proved you’re never too old to get inked.
Cyril Cooper from Rhyl, Wales, got the heart tattoo to commemorate is late wife Sheila. The retired factor worked has said “I lost my wife of 40-odd years in May. She was the love of my life and I wanted to get a tattoo in remembrance of her.
“A few times I tried to go into the tattoo studio but I never quite made it to the door until Tuesday, when I just decided I was going to go in.
“I’ve always wanted a tattoo and I knew I simply wanted a heart with an arrow going through it with Sheila’s name inside.
“I am very pleased with it and I was surprised it didn’t hurt. I got what I wanted so I’m happy.”
Tattoo artist Blaine Dickinson was happy to ink Cyril and said ““Cyril is the oldest person I’ve ever tattooed. He was such a lovely man and he sat really well. He knew exactly what he wanted and he was happy to let me get on with it”.
When asked did he think Sheila would approve of the ink Cyril said ““I hope so. I hope she doesn’t haunt me.”
