Going On A Girls Holiday: Expectation Vs. Reality

Flip flops and bikinis at the ready. It's holiday season in Ireland and all around the country groups of gals are readying themselves for the annual trip to the sun.  Here's our take on expectation versus reality when it comes to a girls holiday. 1. The planning Expectation: You've all been friends for years. You'll all agree on which country to go to, where to stay and when to go. Easy. Reality: It's a nightmare. A major nightmare. Nobody can agree on where, when, how, what or why to go on holiday. One person ends up taking the plunge and booking the entire trip without checking with anyone. 2. The accommodation Expectation: You and your friends are all working now. Five star all the way, baby. Reality: You start having nightmares about how much it's all going to cost. The holiday budget gets smaller and smaller every time you meet up to plan the trip. 3. The holiday romances Expectation: Everyone in the group looking for love finds the perfect holiday romance. And you all sit around together in the evening laughing at the unlikelihood of this having happened. Reality: Someone gets the shift the first night and goes on a few dates while you're all away. Nobody is happy - this is  GIRLS holiday. 4. The sunbathing situtation Expectation: You'll be golden tanned goddesses on the beach. Reality:  4. The photos Expectation: Selfie central. Everyone will look gorgeous, happy and relaxed. Insta-perfection. Reality: Someone on the trip puts an entire album on Facebook without your approval. *Untags and removes from timeline* 5. The nights out Expectation: You go to epic parties and clubs that you'll be talking about for the rest of the year. Reality: The nights out are pretty epic. But you and your friends spend more time getting ready than out on the tiles. And on some of the nights you have more fun while getting ready than when you're actually out. 6. The return to reality Expectation: You'll step off that plane feeling relaxed, rejuvinated  come away feeling totally relaxed and feeling like you've had the best holiday of your life. Reality: You mightn't feel so relaxed, but you definitely feel like you've had the best holiday of your life. And can't wait for the next girlie getaway. Sprite, the truth is refreshing.
