Long suffering Twitter user who goes by the handle @JohnLewis has finally received compensation from the retail store John Lewis.
For the last few years, the Festive season has been a particularly trying time for @JohnLewis, as people flood onto social media sites to sing their praises for the retail store’s tear-jerking ads.
This year, was no different, and like clockwork, when the Man on the Moon advert was released, the Computer science educator was inundated with notifications from people telling him how much he made them cry.
On the sixth of November this year, the man who is not a shop took to Twitter, defeatedly writing:
“99+ notifications. Sigh.”
99+ notifications. Sigh.

In fairness, John is a trooper, and always has a witty retort for tweeters, but there’s no denying it must get tiresome. Well, now the store has decided that he deserved a treat for all that he puts up with and in such good spirits. And what they gave him is pretty epic – the telescope from the ad.
Sincere thanks to @johnlewisretail who sent me a beautiful telescope as a thank you for redirecting wayward tweets. https://t.co/QCylvnkEoN

Are we the only ones wishing our Twitter handle was @TiffanyAndCo??
