It’s getting more and more difficult to put down the phone and stop checking your email, messages, Instagram and Twitter when spending time with friends but one Dublin pub is providing a nice little incentive.
The Old Spot in Dublin 4 is vowing to give a 20 per cent discount to those who surrender their phones during Sunday lunch in an effort to resurrect the old tradition of concentrating on your company, rather than your wi-fi signal, while you dine.
The gastropub launched the initiative on Twitter earlier today and has received a positive reaction from the bar’s followers.

The move comes a month after Galway pub Whiskey‘s offered punters a free drink on Saturday nights if they agreed to leave their phone behind the bar for 30 minutes.
