With festive shops opening in August (we're looking at you, Brown Thomas) and Jingle Bells playing in October, we'd say we're pretty merry at this time of year. However, it turns outs that the UK are the most obsessed with Christmas. According to Google’s data, the UK has had the highest search interest in Christmas. The data was collected and published on December 13, with the UK hitting the top spot for the fourth year in a row. But, don't be too disappointed for Ireland just yet, because we came in second place. According to consumer and retail analyst Kate Hardcastle, “Life is really tough right now and emotionally, therefore everyone is aiming towards a celebration.” The UK and Ireland were followed by Slovakia, Italy, the Czech Republic and the US.
