Are you on the lookout for a new gig? How do you fancy being the ‘Julian Simmons’ for UTV Ireland?
UTV Ireland are launching their search for new faces to introduce the soaps, drama and entertainment on the channel, set to launch early next year.
Former air steward Julian Simmons will be on hand to officially launch the search tomorrow. The affable Belfast man began his TV career after attending an audition for a continuity presenter at UTV, where he then worked freelance presenting weather forecasts, sports updates and programme introductions before joining full time in 1988… and he’s been one of the station’s most recognisable names since.
Simmons is famed for his intros to the soaps in particular, and is the man first responsible for comparing Gail Platt to ‘ET in a wig’.
Julian will be in Dublin tomorrow Tuesday 20th May, standing on his ‘soapbox’ with mic and camera crew on hand to launch the search for new faces to front the soaps on the all new UTV Ireland, due to air in January 2015. More details as we have them… WE CAN MAKE YOU FAMOUS.
