Have you ever wondered?
Okay so I’m one of those humans that wears pyjamas once, and throws them in the wash.
Am I a monster? Probably.
But in fairness, it is hard to know what’s right and what’s wrong.
Well, a debate started recently after a woman on Mumsnet said that she washes her pyjamas after every use (oops!)
Many users thought was a bit too much…
According to Verity Mann, Head of Testing at the Good Housekeeping Institute, once a week is more than enough!
Sorry, but that is GROSS.
“Pyjamas should be washed after a few good nights’ sleep.”
“If you shower before you go to bed, you can wait a few extra nights between washings: I’d say once a week, so every seven days.”
There are exceptions to the ‘once a week’ rule though.
“If you’re a sweaty sleeper you should increase this,” she said.
“If someone has been ill, wash them straight away on as high a temperature as the care label allows.”
I’m not a sweaty sleeper, but I will continue to was my pyjamas every day.
Because I love myself.
