No, it’s not a hat…
So apparently between 20% and 30% of women don’t orgasm during sex. That is pretty crappy for everyone involved and as a result anytime something pops up that is said to help women climax it becomes a talking point for some and develops into a night of experimentation for many.
Are you ready for the big unreveal? Thought so…it’s SOCKS! Yes really.
A study done by Dutch researcher, Dr. Gert Holstege, found that socks promote warmth and comfort. Well that makes sense, they are designed to keep your feet snug.
Holstege found that these feelings, increased by sock wearing during sex can calm a woman’s amygdala and prefrontal cortex — the brain areas responsible for anxiety, fear and danger signals.
The key to female arousal seems to be deep relaxation and a lack of anxiety, with direct stimulation playing a less critical role.
In the Dutch study researchers recorded a jump from 50% to 80% of orgasms amongst the female participants when wearing socks during sex.
Admittedly keeping your sports socks on may not sounds intensely appealing but the resulting experience might just be. Here’s to a night of dry socks and wet spots.
