A man found a LIVE wriggling worm in his supermarket cod fillet

This is SO disgusting

If you like fish, then look away.

Because this story will definitely turn you off it for a while.

A shopper in the UK found a live worm in his cod fillet, which he bought in Sainsbury’s… and it was still wriggling around.

However, he was lucky enough to spot the bug before he opened the packet.

The shopper brought the fillet back into Sainsbury’s, and after many shocked gasps from employees, he was given a £5 gift card. Sound.

But, you’ll be repulsed to know that worms on fish are actually quite common.

Celeb chef Gary O’Hanlon explained that there are actual worms called cod worms and herring worms, because they frequently burrow into fish and live off them.

“A piece of white fish like cod has lots of worms. And you [might not know it] and think that looks amazing but I look at it and say there’s a worm there and a worm there.”

It’s not all bad news though, because if you find a live worm, it means that the fish is fresh and has not been frozen.

We might not eat fish for a while now though…
