It’s been over nine months since Lucy Beale’s time on Albert Square came to an end. The mystery surrounding the identity of the person who carried out her murder will finally be revealed in a 30th anniversary special next month.

At tonight’s National Television Awards, host Dermot O’Leary unveiled an exclusive clue to help solve the EastEnders whodunnit mystery.

O’Leary read out the following message, “this is the last thing Lucy heard”, before a short clip of music played from Lucy’s music box.

Oklahoma! musical’s opening song ‘Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin” was heard blaring from the box.

Lucy’s music box was placed under the tree on Christmas Day but fans of the show are yet to find out why.

On February 19th, viewers will finally find out who killed the character, played by Hetti Bywater, with a number of suspects still in the frame.
