As with every Christmas tradition, sitting in front of the fire with a box of roses while watching our favourite TV and films is up there with one of our favourite times of the year.
So when we got a glimpse of what’s on offer this festive season from RTE, we weren’t disappointed.
Between making rounds of turkey and stuffing sambos, prepare to sit back and relax. The only work you’ll be doing is fighting over the remote control…
For movie buffs, prepare to feast your eyes on Argo, Skyfall, Django Unchained, The Help as well as the classic It’s A Wonderful Life. Feel free to sing along to The Sound of Music or Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, or make sure you tune into Mrs. Brown’s Boys, The Savage Eye or Mario Rosenstock for a laugh.
One Direction fans might want to tune into a behind the scenes look at Ryan Tubridy meeting the friends and family of our very own Niall Horan, as well as a backstage interview with the Mullingar man during his American tour.
Documentary fans are in for a treat with two incredible stories, including the inspirational story of Mark Pollock, and the strength and positivity he projects in the face of the trials and obstacles he’s faced throughout his life, while Man on Bridge will focus on the story of the legendary Dublin street photographer Arthur Fields.
Also, for those who are hosting the house party, or opting for a quieter New Year’s Eve, favourites Kathryn Thomas and Paddy McKenna will bring the year to a close with a live RTE One countdown show.
Be sure to check in with us over Christmas for a daily pick on the best festive picks in our daily guide!
