The day is FINALLY here.
And we are grateful.

Yes, suffice to say that Love Island 2018 is officially the most fantastic way to kick-off the summer.
Nothing like a bit of #LoveIsland to make you realise you need to lose a fucking stone pronto

However, and while on Sunday evening Twitter was AWASH with all things LI, a load of folk were nevertheless questioning why the female contestants were so very slim, and the male contestants so very buff.

there is more meat on my big toe than there is on all five of those girls put together #loveisland

We’re gonna have to call a spade a spade here: Dani Dyer, Samira Mighty, Hayley Hughes, Kendall Rae-Knight, and Laura Anderson all look fairly breathtaking in their swimwear (so much so, it’s making us question many of our recent dietary decisions).
Same goes for the lads – Alex George, Eyal Booker, Jack Fincham, Niall Aslam, Wes Nelson, and Adam Collard, all of whom haven’t so much as sniffed a complex carb since Christmas.

All-in-all and in a nutshell – each and every one of them looks like they’ve spent the last 90 days absolutely killing it in the gym… something which some viewers lamented.
Self esteem went right out the window after seeing the girls bodies on #LoveIsland😭😂 pic.twitter.com/8l5uX9Mq7z

One stated: “There’s literally no diversity in the girls. It’s like they were looking for a certain type of girl. So boring.”
Why does everyone skip leg-day on #LoveIsland !? 🍗

Another opted for: “Really need to have a variety of body shapes, ethnicities and sexualities to truly represent today’s society… I also think it would make it so interesting and great to watch.”

Among the guys on Twitter stating they’d a renewed urgency to workout was Georgie Shore‘s Nathan Henry – who was happy to thank Love Island for the #inspo (we’re with you, Nathan).
So I’m going to the gym first thing in the morning to prepare my 2019 summer body THANK YOU #LoveIsland for the inspiration

Right okay, unpopular opinion but I do think there’s such a thing as TOO much of a 6 pack / muscles #loveisland

Love Island will run for EIGHT glorious weeks – and we’re delighted to say that after episode 1 we’re hooked.
What did you think of the opener?
