No one saw it coming.
Love Island fans are still not over last night’s recoupling, which saw Hugo confront Toby and save Chloe from dumping.
During last episode, Toby’s head was well and truly turned by new girl Abigail, much to Chloe’s dismay. Later in the evening, it was the boys’ turn to pick the girl they’d like to couple up with.
Calling it one of the “hardest” decisions, Toby selected Abigail as his new girl, and the last two girls standing were Chloe and new girl Georgia.
The ball lay in Hugo’s court. While Georgia initially showed interest in the PE teacher, Hugo made it clear that he didn’t feel like the spark was there.
As he addressed the group, he used the recoupling as an opportunity to confront his fellow islander on the way he treated Chloe.
“I would like to couple up with this girl because not only is she out-of-this-world bootiful, she’s super intelligent, she’s funny,” he began.
“If I’m completely honest, she doesn’t deserve to be treated how she has been these past 24 hours, and I firmly believe that a lot of this test stuff is complete bullshit.
“You deserve someone who’s honest and communicates with you, so the girl I would like to couple up with is Chloe.”
Chloe was visibly delighted to be saved by her pal, though the rest of the islanders were a bit shocked.
Viewers took to Twitter to express their glee at the sudden drama.
