J.K. Rowling is very active on Twitter and often has chats with her fans about the history of Harry Potter and the various characters in the popular series.
Recently, a Twitter user asked what Hagrid’s Patronus would be and the author revealed that Hagrid was never able to produce the ‘happy spell’.
Hagrid couldn’t produce a Patronus. It’s a very difficult spell. https://t.co/TRDVNvSEdR

As Harry Potter buffs will know, a Patronus is a projection of your ‘positive feelings’ and it’s entirely possible that the Hogwarts groundskeeper was too sad to create his own spell.
There’s numerous reasons for why Hagrid might not have managed the spell including the fact that he left Hogwarts at a young age and never had the opportunity to finish learning the nuts and bolts of Harry Potter magic.
It also may been because Hagrid hasn’t had an easy time: he was abandoned as a child, expelled from school thanks to Tom Riddle aka Voldermort and his tryst with Madame Maxine didn’t work out either.
That said, we’re still broken-hearted by the fact that he may have been simply too sad to master the art of happy spells.
This is NOT okay.
