NOOOO, but also fair.
The Gavin & Stacey Christmas special is kicking off at the end of this month.
Y’know, for Christmas.
And while every single person among us is super pumped for the What’s Occurin’ banter that is inevitably going to go down, some people have already got the future on their minds, and what it means for Gav, Stace, Smithy, and Nessa.
And, more importantly, what it means for us greedy fans – who are clearly not going to be happy with a mere one hour special.
Unfortunately for us though, it appears as though we might have to accept just that because Gavin & Stacey co-creator Ruth Jones has confirmed that there are no plans for any further Barry/Essex content in the future.
“I think it would be churlish of me to say there won’t be any more. The honest truth is there are no plans,” she told Red magazine.
“But I don’t think I could ever say never.”
Don’t tease us like this. Please.
Ruth, who also plays Nessa in the BBC sitcom, added that she was quite hyped to get back into character once she and fellow co-creator James Corden had written the script.
“I get to be really rude and bossy. Being back in Barry again, wearing that leather skirt and being down the races or in Gwen’s house was just bliss,” she said.
“What’s lovely about the Christmas special is see a softer side to Nessa in her love for Neil, her son. She’s not a conventional mum, but she’s very loving.”
This comes after the official trailer for the Gavin & Stacey Christmas special landed over the weekend.
It showed Gavin and Smithy being reunited, Bryn ruining the dinner, and Nessa looking annoyed, as per.
The Gavin & Stacey Christmas special airs on Christmas Day on BBC1.
