Mikey North, who has played Gary for about 10 years now, said that it's time for him to take a bit of a break and "de-Windass."
He told What’s On TV magazine:
“I’ve got about two months off now. I’m going to go away and de-Windass for a bit, and then come back and see what’s next.”Unreal man, you deserve it. North also recently confirmed to Manchester Evening News that he had signed a new 12-month contract with the soap too, so we needn't worry.
He said:
“I’ve just signed again for another year so this will be my 11th year, which is crazy, but it’s been my best year, I’m very happy at Corrie. “Gary has been much more of a central part of the show and I’ve been involved in some really nice storylines, culminating in the week ahead.”
