“It does not sit well.”
Vogue Williams has called out David Beckham for his World Cup deal on the latest episode of My Therapist Ghosted Me with Joanne McNally.
During the podcast episode, the two best pals were chatting about everything and anything when Beckham’s deal with the Qatar World Cup came up in the conversation.
“Do you know what I’ve been thinking about a lot recently? David Beckham being a thirsty B***ard and taking that money from Qatar. It doesn’t sit well with me at all,” Joanne said as the topic turned directly onto the deal.
Fully agreeing with her, Vogue chimed in saying: “It does not sit well – he’ll get away with that. I think he will.”
With Joanne not as convinced, she added: “The respect is gone. People thought he was sound, and he’s just outed himself for being a thirsty f*cker.”
And that’s when Vogue’s honesty got the best of her and she said it how it was.
She said: “Honestly, it’s not cool but people are going over there to be doing fashion – they had this whole fashion thing and it’s fine – and everyone is entitled to their own culture, but not when you’re discriminating against people and just being f**cking horrendous.”
The mum of three went on to add that she had been asked to go to Qatar for an influencing job which she turned down, adding: “I’ll take my lesbian sister. How would you feel about that?”
Continuing, she went back to the topic of the former footballer, asking David to do the right thing with the money he’s earned from the deal, saying: “He could save a little bit of face, like come on, you’ve got €110 million donate at least 10 of that to charities because you know you’re a sh*tebag.”
Beckham first saw some controversy when he accepted a reported €11.4 million to act as an ambassador to the World Cup as people deemed him a hypocrite for doing so as he has been known for being a “gay icon”.
David posed for the gay magazine Attitude back in 2002 when he was first given the unofficial title, with Elton John being godfather to two of his children.
