Tulisa Contostavlos’ PA has claimed that Simon Cowell is gay because he knows people who have slept with him.
In a recording played at the trial of Contostavlos at Southwark Crown Court yesterday (July 17th), ‘Fake Sheikh’ Mazher Mahmood, who met the singer under the guise of a film producer, could be heard asking PA Gareth Varey if Cowell was gay.
Varey reportedly answered “yes” before saying that he had not personally had relations with him. He then claimed that he knew people who have.
A spokesperson for the music mogul said: “We are bound by contempt of court rules so cannot respond to these claims in the manner we wish to. We are speaking to the Attorney General’s office – and we intend to make a statement in court as soon as possible”.
Contostavlos has been charged with allegedly brokering a cocaine deal with Mahmood, an undercover Sun reporter. Mahmood has been accused by the defence of misleading the former X factor judge. He denies the accusations.
The trial continues on Monday.
