The best of friends.
After seeing the photos of Meghan Markle and the Queen attending their first joint royal engagement yesterday, it’s safe to say they’re getting on very well indeed.
They were laughing and giggling in a number of the shots captured and whatever the joke was, they definitely found it funny.
It turns out that this wasn’t just a one-off and the Queen obviously has quite the soft spot for Meghan, who married her grandson, Prince Harry, last month.
Buckingham Palace say Meghan #DuchessofSussex’s new pearl earrings are a gift from the Queen. (And not Birks as they’re claiming!). pic.twitter.com/fLJcIoZtGt

Before their public appearance yesterday, Queen Elizabeth II gifted Meghan a rather gorgeous pair of earrings, from her personal collection of jewellery no less.
The pearl-and-diamond earrings, no simple studs here thank you very much, are extremely elegant and you’ll be able to see them up close in these tweets.
FYI: I’m told Meghan’s earrings are a gift from the Queen?? https://t.co/fGRAlzaExM

The fun fact was shared by Emily Andrews, royal correspondent for The Sun newspaper, and Emily Nash, royal reporter for Hello! magazine.
The elegant earrings finished off Meghan’s look perfectly with the cream caped Givenchy dress, black clutch bag and court shoes proving the perfect ensemble.
It very much looks like Meghan has been warmly welcomed into the royal family and we look forward to seeing more of these public engagements.
