The price of fame is high for Robert Pattinson’s girlfriend, FKA Twigs, who has been subjected to racial abuse on Twitter since a picture of the couple holding hands emerged last week.
FKA Twigs, real name Tahliah Debrett Barnett, was appalled at the reaction of fans to the burgeoning relationship and took to Twitter yesterday saying: “I am genuinely shocked and disgusted at the amount of racism that has been infecting my account the past week.”
A number of Twitter users have left hateful comments on her wall including racist statements such as “you’re like a monkey”.
Tahliah followed up her tweet with another, adding:
Racism is unacceptable in the real world and it’s unacceptable online.

The British singer stated in an interview recently that she has experienced racism before while growing up.
“Either your hair’s different, or the colour of your skin, or your features. Half of my life I’ve had people staring at me because they think I’m funny-looking and ugly,” she told Dazed & Confused.

The singer should hopefully be able to put these comments behind her in light of her recent success which sees her nominated for three awards at the MOBO Awards – Best Newcomer, Best Female Act and Best Video.
Fans have been keeping an eye on the singer’s Twitter account since she began posting cryptic comments about a man in recent weeks.
he asked me to enable my location finder but i was scared he would find out id been under his skin the whole time
