Today is the third year anniversary of the day Amy Winehouse passed away and in a new interview, her father Mitch says he still talks to her everyday.
“She’s standing next to me, every time I go out on that stage. She’s there all right, I feel her, sense her,” Mitch said in conversation with The Sun.
“She’s in here now saying, ‘Just get on with it, Dad.’ I’m always speaking to her, all day, every day”.
Mitch posted tweets today on Amy’s anniversary, thanking fans for their unwavering support and “messages of love”.
We will be visiting Amy and my mum and then spending day with family and friends. Thank you for all of your messages of love. Mitch

I don’t have words to express my gratitude and love to you all. You never allow us to go through this alone. Thank you. Mitch

To honour Amy’s memory, Mitch set up the Amy Winehouse foundation which informs and educates people about drug abuse while providing support for those going through it. It also encourages the personal development of young people through music.

He explained the purpose of the foundation on the website set up for the cause: “The Amy Winehouse Foundation works to prevent the effects of drug and alcohol misuse on young people. We also aim to support, inform and inspire vulnerable and disadvantaged young people to help them reach their full potential” said a statement from Mitch.
The funds raised from Mitch’s biography entitled Amy: My Daughter and his new album But Beautiful will go to the foundation.
