Real life Coronation Street couple Sally Carman and Joe Duttine have gotten engaged.
Duttine – who plays Tim Metcalfe on the soap – confirmed the news on Twitter on Friday evening, as he shared a photo of them having a champagne toast.
“She said yes, everyone,” he wrote alongside the photo, before adding: “Covid-19 can f**k off.”

Carman, who plays Abi Franklin, shared the news on Instagram, posting the same photo as Duttine.
“So this happened…#yes,” she captioned the shot.

The couple, who were first romantically linked in 2018, were congratulated by fans – as well as a number of their co-stars, including Jane Danson,Sally Dynevor, Samia Longchambon, Lisa George and Daniel Brocklebank.
“Absolutely over the moon for you both!!!! I’m sooo happy!!! Biggest congratulations,” Lisa George wrote, while Katie McGlynn said she was “so happy” for the pair.
“Ahhh amazing Sal! So happy for you both! Congrats you two,” Samia Longchambon commented under the photo. And Sally Dynevor, who plays Duttine’s on-screen wife, added: “Oh wow that’s fantastic news. Congratulations you beautiful couple.”
