Paris Fury discovers bargain cleaning hack after Tyson marked the counters with Sharpie

Paris Fury has found a genius way to remove Sharpie marks - and you might already have it at home.

After her husband Tyson managed to get the marker all over her countertops while he was signing memorabilia for fans at home - which is a regular occurrence according to her - Paris still hadn't found a product that could remove the ink.

But this time when it happened she did a bit of quick thinking and managed to find a product that would get rid of them for under €2 (depending on what brand you use) and decided to share her new knowledge in her book How Does She Do it? The Kids, Tyson & Me.

The mum of seven wrote: "One day there happened to be a hairspray can in the kitchen (don’t ask me why!), so I grabbed it on the off-chance and gave the stubborn Sharpie stain a quick squirt, followed by a wipe-down with a damp cloth."

And somehow her last ditch effort worked. Feeling very happy with herself she added: "I'm quite proud of my little household hack; maybe I should share it on Instagram…"

Now of course you shouldn't go trying this hack on any priceless family-heirloom furniture as it might cause more damage than good if the materials are delicate but it might just get you out of a pinch in other cases.

On top of this apparently, there's actually a scientific explanation as to why hairspray can perform this magic as the crowd behind Persil washing tablets explained in their guide to removing marker stains.

"Methylated spirits and rubbing alcohol (which can be found at your local DIY store or chemist) are often very useful, but if you'd rather use items you have lying around the house, alcohol-based hairsprays and alcohol-based antibacterial hand soaps (in liquid form) are also good choices," they wrote.

They explained that hairspray should be applied thickly to the area and then you should then wait 15 minutes to give the solvent time to break the marker down before going over it with a cloth.
