A fitting tribute.

With just two months to go until the royal wedding, there is a lot of speculation about what Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will decide on for their big day.

Yesterday, Kensington Palace released details of the wedding cake and now it’s been suggested that Meghan will wear Princess Diana’s tiara on the big day.

It’s thought that the former Suits actress could wear the Spencer tiara, owned by Princess Diana’s family.

The princess wore the jewelled headpiece on her wedding day to Prince Charles and a number of other formal occasions.

Debrett’s, a coaching company in etiquette, have worked together with shopping outlet Bicester Village to create a royal wedding guide.

As pointed out by Marie Claire, this guide notes that Meghan could borrow the Spencer tiara for the day.

“Both on her wedding day and on a number of other formal occasions, Princess Diana wore a tiara owned by her family, known as the Spencer Tiara.

The piece has not been worn in public since Princess Diana’s death, but there are rumours that the Spencer family may lend it to their nephew’s bride for the occasion of their wedding in May”.

Queen Elizabeth II wore the Fringe Tiara when she married Prince Phillip in 1947 and the Duchess of Cambridge sported the Cartier Halo tiara which she borrowed from the Queen on her wedding day in 2011.

There’s also the possibility Meghan will borrow another tiara from the royal collection or have a bespoke one made like the Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, did for her wedding to Prince Andrew in 1986.

However, the fact that the Spencer tiara was owned by Princess Diana would be a fitting tribute to Harry’s late mother and so it’s quite possible this is the headpiece Meghan will don to walk down the aisle.

We can’t actually wait to see her bridal ensemble…
