Hugh Grant has opened up about working with Timothée Chalamet

Hugh Grant and Timothée Chalamet teamed up to work on Wonka, but did the two heartthrobs get along?

Appearing on Jimmy Fallon, Hugh Grant joked that he didn’t like working with the 27-year-old and that he always mentions that he’s half French.

During the segment, Jimmy joked that he had run out of questions for Hugh and instead asked the audience to quiz the 63-year-old.

The camera then turned to Timothée disguised in a stick-on mustache and red Love Actually baseball cap.

He asked his co-star, “You’ve worked with some incredible actors throughout your career. I mean some really incredible actors. I was just curious ‘Where does Timothée Chalamet rank on that list?

Hugh then jokingly replied, “Well, I’m assuming this isn’t part of the show that’s going to be broadcast so I’ll tell you the truth.

“To be honest, I didn’t like him. None of us did. I don’t know what it is. There’s something just weird about that whole French ‘Timothée Chalamet.'”

Hugh then put on a stereotypical French accent, and said, “Je suis Francais, Do you like me?”

Timothée nodded in agreement, “For sure, for sure, for sure.”

In another strange revelation, Hugh said he was a big fan of the K-pop band Black Pink thanks to his daughter.

“I have a daughter who dragged me to this thing. It’s not automatically a grumpy 63-year-old Englishman’s cup of tea but it was a huge concert in Hyde Park in London and she took me along and it was fascinating,” he said.

“She’s a very good girl. She’s a very good girl at school and at home and she’s marvelous but she turned into a raving nutcase, suddenly she’s got this hammer in her hand and she’s going crazy like this [imitates smashing a hammer in the air].

“It was like a possessed child from The Exorcist. But after an hour I’m so into it.”

Both Grant and Chalamet have received rave reviews for their roles in Wonka. It is currently the number-one film in Ireland.
