Fans are asking is this healthy?
Chris Martin sparks backlash after he revealed he only eats once a day because of fellow singer songwriter, Bruce Springsteen.
The Coldplay singer cited 73-year-old Springsteen as his inspiration and has adopted this new dietary plan because of how well it seemed to work for him.
He said he stops eating religiously at 4pm every day and skips dinner.
Martin said: “I actually don’t have dinner anymore. I stop eating at four and I learned that from having lunch with Bruce Springsteen.”
Speaking on the Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend Podcast he said: “I was lucky enough to go over there to lunch the day after we played Philadelphia last year. I was on a really strict diet anyway.
“But I was like, ‘Bruce looks even more in shape than me’ and Patti, Bruce’s wife, said he’s only eating one meal a day.
“I was like, “Well, there we go. That’s my next challenge.”
Fans were quick to comment on the stars eating habits with many saying he’s not getting the correct nutrition and it’s unhealthy.
One follower asked: “Isn’t that an eating disorder?”
Another wrote: “One meal a day… whewf.”
Someone else wrote: “Oh my God no wonder I noticed how thin Bruce has gotten. WTH? And Chris has always been rail thin.”
One YouTuber user noted: “First Gwyneth and her bone broth and now her ex doesn’t eat dinner. The disordered eating habits of famous people is beyond obnoxious and dangerous.”
That was referring to the recent backlash Gwyneth Paltrow received over her own diet after suggesting it mainly consisted of bone broth. However, she was quick to reply reassuring fans that she eats “full meals.”
