Anna Martin

Ariana Grande has decided to share her side of the story

The pop princess just released her latest album Eternal Sunshine and of course, with all the headlines she’s been making thanks to her relationship, fans were all ears.

Described as a concept album, the record tells the story of the end of one relationship and then the excitement of finding new love seemingly out of nowhere.

Kinda sounds familiar right? Well, we took a deep dive into the most revealing lyrics to see just what the singer has on her mind.

Intro (End of the World)

In this song, Ariana has a moment of reflection and poses an important question, “How can I tell if I’m in the right relationship?”

She follows this by singing, “Aren’t you really supposed to know that sh*t? / Feel it in your bones and own that sh*t?”

Yet in the middle of all these big feelings it seems that Ariana Grande meets Ethan for the first time.

“Then I had this interaction I’ve been thinkin’ ’bout for like five weeks,” she sings. “Wonder if he’s thinkin’ ’bout it too and smiling.”

Ultimately, she decides she’d rather “tell the truth than make it worse for you” and sets an old lover free.

Eternal Sunshine

In the title track, Ariana Grande sings about a failed relationship she had with a liar and a cheater and reveals how that led her to find a “good boy.”

She sings, “I showed you all my demons, all my lies / Yet you played me like Atari / Now it’s like I’m lookin’ in the mirror / Hope you feel alright when you’re in her / I found a good boy and he’s on my side / You’re just my eternal sunshine, sunshine.”

After hearing this song, fans were divided if the track was code for Ethan Slater or her ex Dalton Gomez, or maybe even about the two.

Ariana is taking control of the narrative in True Story.

Originally the singer received backlash for dating Ethan soon after his split from wife Lilly Jay but now she’s detailing the “true story about all the lies.”

“I’ll play the villain if you need me to/I know how this goes, yeah,” she sings. “I’ll be the one you pay to see play thе scene/Roll the camеras, please.”

Does anyone else remember when Lilly said Ariana wasn’t a “girl’s girl”? Hmmm.

The Boy is Mine

In The Boy Is Mine, Ariana sings about a person she’s enamoured with and how she wants him to be hers.

She croons, “Somethin’ about him is made for somebody like me / Baby, come over, come over (Oh my) / And God knows I’m tryin’, but there’s just no use in denying / The boy is mine / I can’t wait to try him / Le-let’s get intertwined.”

She also says that she never expected their romance to happen but later in the bridge says they were “simply meant to be.”

Ordinary Things

The final song on the album seems like a real celebration of her new relationship.

Every lyric of this song sounds like it’s dedicated to Ethan, she sings about how nothing could feel “ordinary” as long as they’re together.

Ariana praises her new beau in the lyrics: “You hit just like the first sip of wine after a long day / You hit like my biggest fan when I hear what the critics say / You hit just like a green light when I’m stuck runnin’ real late.”
