Riverdale has been renewed for a fifth season.
The CW drama was renewed alongside a number of other shows, including The Flash, Supergirl, Charmed, Legacies, Dynasty, Black Lightning and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
The spin-off series Katy Keane was also given an order for 13 additional scripts. The show is set to launch on February 6 in North America.
“These early orders for next season give our production teams a head start in plotting out story arcs and a jump on hiring staff, and this also provides us with a strong foundation of established, fan-favorite CW shows to build on for next season,” CW president Mark Pedowitz said [via TVLine].
“We’ve been thrilled with the creative direction of all three new series, and even though we are in the very early stages of our new full stack streaming strategy, which allows viewers to catch up on our new shows from the beginning, we’re already seeing incredibly positive results from our multiplatform viewership for Nancy Drew and Batwoman.”
The CW drama’s midseason finale ended with a massive cliffhanger that divided fans – which, seemingly, resolved that Jughead mystery once and for all.
I you’re looking to find out what is going to happen in the rest of season four of Riverdale, it looks like it won’t be too much longer to wait – here’s when new episodes of Riverdale will return in 2020.
