Meet the Giant African Land Snail.
They are causing quite the stir on Twitter today after one woman shared a picture of the rabbit-like animal online.
The picture shared by @whatmaddness has gone viral online with many questioning the picture of the giant creature was real or photoshopped.

Yes, social media users were divided by the picture, with some users thinking the snail was adorable.
However, many others, while bizarrely interested, were totally freaked out.

Commonly kept as pets in the Western world, the rare snail is somewhat of a prized possession for pet owners.
However, Stateside, the large snail is viewed as a pest and is regularly quarantined by authorities at airports.

The snail can grow up to 12cm in length and 600 grams in weight.
