It’s been a very good day for Irish actors, with news that Chris O’Dowd has earned a prestigious Tony Award nomination for his role in the Broadway production Of Mice And Men.
The Roscommon actor starred alongside James Franco and Leighton Meister in the acclaimed production and it was confirmed this morning that O’Dowd has been recognised in the Best Performance From A Leading Actor category at the Tony Awards. He will take on Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston who is nominated for All the Way, as well as Samuel Barnett (Twelfth Night), Mark Rylance (Richard III) and Tony Shalhoub (Act One) in the category.
The Moone Boy star acknowledged the milestone achievement on Twitter today, saying he was “beyond thrilled” with the news.
