She want it, she got it.
There are fewer things less tragic than the humble AirPod.
Sure, they’re handy, but they’re so small.
Sure, they allow you to listen to music, but they’re so expensive.
Sure, they eliminate the need for wires, but they’re bound to get lost the first chance you remove them from your ears.
Essentially, they’re a great idea but rather impractical. Despite this, if we were ever so lucky (and rich) to own a pair, we would do anything to ensure their safety.
One woman who did just that was Twitter user Ashley Mayer. She accidentally dropped one of her AirPods (who according to her, is a ‘he’), onto a Subway track last week.
Omg you guys he’s still down there ?
(I had asked to have him rescued yesterday but it was going to take two hours and I had to be present) pic.twitter.com/4FeRUQy6QH

The little guy lay there for an entire day unharmed, as train after train passed by above him.
Ashley said that she asked staff could he be retrieved, but the operation would take two hours and she had to be there for the whole thing.
So, she decided to take things into her own hands… and document the entire debacle on Twitter, of course.
Game on.

Yes girl, get him!
Armed with her man made retrieval device, Ashley did what she came there to do – and shoved the broom down onto the Subway track when the train had safely passed and got her AirPod back.
What an achievement.
He’s filthy but he’s mine (again)!

Fair play, like.
And yes, the AirPod did still work.
I dedicate this selfie to the germaphobes. (You may be onto something, guess we’ll see!)
Verdict: he’s working wonderfully ??? pic.twitter.com/vCCMdQpypd
