Electric Ireland’s Powering Kindness Week kicked off over the weekend and it’s running until this Friday 23 January. It’s a fantastic initiative designed to get us all being a bit kinder to each other while at the same time helping Irish charities raise some much-needed funds.
This year the campaign will be donating a whopping €130,000 to three extremely worthy causes; The Marie Keating Foundation, The Irish Heart Foundation, and Childline. How does Electric Ireland decide who gets the donation? Well, they don’t, you and your acts of kindness do.
Simply tell us about your act of kindness on social media using the #PoweringKindness and tag either @MarieKeating, @IrishHeart_ie or @ISPCCChildline. The organisation with the most kindness done in their name will receive the largest portion of the €130,000 prize fund.
As we announced last week, the Her.ie team is delighted to be partnering with The Marie Keating Founation to power kindess for the cancer charity – we’re calling on all of our readers to make sure The Marie Keating Foundation gets the biggest share!
We sent our own Liz McHugh along to The Marie Keating Foundation HQ to to check out all of the great work the cancer charity is doing thousands of families all over Ireland.
Liz kicked off our own acts of kindness in the office by making us all tea when she got back from speaking to the lovely ladies at The Marie Keating Foundation and filed it under @MarieKeating. Cheers Liz!
You should definitely do something kind for someone as well this week, because it won’t just help the charities, it’ll bring a smile to someone’s face. Go on, you know you want to…
