Sir Terry Wogan Has Passed Away, Aged 77

Sir Terry Wogan has passed away.

BBC News reports that the broadcaster had been fighting with cancer in recent months.

The 77-year-old TV veteran, who was born in Co Limerick, has a TV career spanning 60 years.

He was heavily involved in the Eurovision for many years, providing the UK commentary and also contributed to Children in Need since its inception.

A statement released by his family reads: “Sir Terry Wogan died today after a short but brave battle with cancer.

“He passed away surrounded by his family. While we understand he will be missed by many, the family ask that their privacy is respected at this time”.
