Notorious rapist Larry Murphy has apologised for his crimes after being tracked down in the UK.
The Sun newspaper discovered this week that the Wicklow man has been living under four different aliases in London since being released from prison, most recently as ‘Charlie The Carpenter’.
The 49-year-old, who served ten years for the kidnap, rape and attempted murder of a Carlow woman, was spotted enjoying a drink with a female companion and when questioned over whether he felt any remorse for his crime, he replied: “Of course, I’m sorry”.
Murphy has also been the prime suspect in investigations into the disappearance of eight women in the Leinster region in the 1990s, including Jojo Dullard and Eva Brennan. The bodies of the women have never been found and Murphy has always denied any involvement in their disappearance.
