Louise McSharry has said that "no one spoke to me at all" ahead of her departure from 2FM. The radio personality was dropped from the station in October after 11 years. Louise said at the time that she was not permitted to broadcast her final shows or say goodbye to her listeners. This comes after the head of 2FM said that he has "no control" when it comes to how presenters react when tough decisions are made. That’s part of the job. Sometimes your contract isn’t renewed. But the lack of communication and any care whatsoever for someone who’s been part of the organisation for 11 years is unacceptable, and it can’t continue." Healy said that in most cases, RTÉ gives people nine to 12 months’ notice that their show is changing, and Louise's situation was "really difficult." Speaking to The Irish Independent, he said: "How the talent will react to these decisions, I’ve no control over. But I know it’s got to be tough." When it came to talking specifically about Lousie's final show, Dan admitted that something like that had "never happened before" and he had spoken to multiple people in November about changes happening in the studio. He added: "Then something happened to me beyond my control, in terms of communication, and there’s nothing I can do about that and it’s out." Louise has been very open about her unexpected leave from 2FM and admitted when she first revealed she was leaving that it "wasn't her call". When it came to her last show not airing, she said: "I really hate this kind of radio practice of not letting someone finish out their show, I think it's s***ty. She also noted on Instagram last month: "I was very hurt by the way it was handled, but I’m moving on more and more each day."
