The iconic Irish radio double act that is Dermot and Dave is coming to an end.
Today FM’s famous duo today announced live on air that they will be parting ways very soon.
Dave Whelan and Dave Moore have been a well-known twosome to Irish listeners for more than 20 years but Whelan has decided to break away in order to focus on his holistic brand, Mind Full.
Moore will continue on the airwaves as a solo act, and his new radio show will launch on August 28th.
Whelan broke the news to listeners on Tuesday morning and said: “After 21 years on the radio together, I have decided to leave Dermot and Dave.
“I actually made this extremely difficult decision because I have other areas in my life that I’m really passionate about and I want to spend some time really devoting my time to them.”

Whelan is a qualified meditation teacher and will be focusing his expertise on Mind Full and plans to bring his mindfulness quest on a live tour.
Whelan said: “I have sought to blend comedy and humour with meditation, so that I could help people deal with stress, worry and anxiety in their daily lives.
“I hope to write more books, do more tours and reach an online audience that I believe are ready for something new in this space.”
Meanwhile, Moore said he is looking forward to manning the microphone on his new venture, adding: “I love radio. I love Today FM and I love you guys.”
Dave Moore on Today FM will be aired on weekdays from 9:00 am.
