Vimes the dog isn’t just famous because he has his own Twitter account. He also survived falling 300ft off the coast of Clare yesterday.
The fox terrier took an unexpected swim when we broke free of his owners and took a dip off the coast at Lookout Point Dunlicky in Co.Clare.
The distress call went out from Dunlicky, and Kilkee Rescue and the Irish Coast Guard pulled Vimes back to safety.
Luckily, Vimes took some time from his bed to tweet to his followers that he had indeed survived his incident:
I'd like to give a massive thank you to my new heroes @KilkeeRescue for saving me yesterday when I walked off a 300ft high cliff. #legends

And later confirmed that he was retiring from the spotlight of ‘maritime disasters’:
Taking it easy now! Me when I'm not adventuring and causing a small maritime crisis. pic.twitter.com/RpDob9Nkam
