Cost of Spotify Premium for Vodafone Ireland customers increases

 

Until now, Vodafone Ireland customers had the option to avail of a cut-price subscription to Spotify Premium as part of their payment plan.

Vodafone Ireland customers who had been availing of a subscription to Spotify Premium at a reduced cost will have to pay an increased price for the service if they wish to continue that subscription, the company has confirmed. Until the beginning of this month, customers were able to opt into a Spotify add-on as part of their payment plan at a cost of €5.99 per month. That price has now changed to €8.99 per month. A standard Spotify Premium subscription costs €9.99 per month. The new price for the Spotify Premium add-on came into effect on 1 June and Vodafone says customers were issued with a 30-day notification of the change of price at their next renewal date. Customers can opt out of the subscription at any time here. In a statement issued to JOE on Wednesday, a Vodafone spokesperson said:

“Vodafone continues to offer Spotify Premium as an add-on service, and as part of our student Vodafone X music offer. “Customers who currently have Spotify Premium included as part of their plan will continue to have access to the service until their contract expires and or they change plans. A 30-day notification was issued to all customers who avail of Spotify Premium as an add-on service notifying them of the change of price at their next renewal date. “At Vodafone we are constantly reviewing our products and services to ensure our product portfolio suits the needs of our customers. In response to our customers’ ask for increased data we have now doubled the amount of data available to customers on all consumer post-pay plans.
