A young child has been taken into care after her mum was reportedly “groomed” by Lostprophets’ Ian Watkins.
The former singer is alleged to have joked with the 21-year-old mum about seeing her two-year-old daughter seeing her have sex.
The 40-year-old, who is serving 35 years behind bars for child sex crimes, including the attempted rape of a baby, is believed to have been writing to the woman who has been a fan of his since she was 16.
The Sun on Sunday reports that the mum visited him at the high-security Wakefield Jail, and Watkins had told her he loved her and asked her to wear an engagement ring.
The young mum reportedly told a friend that she would not let Watkins near her daughter, but the toddler has been taken into care and her mobile phone and laptop have been taken away.
According to a friend of the woman, the mum believed Watkins was innocent and wrote him the letters to let him know people still cared about him.
A spokesman for the NSPCC told the publication:
“This is an absolute shambles. We’re sickened. It’s utterly bewildering that he could carry on grooming.
“It shows contempt for children he abused, and raises serious questions about supervision.”
